This is an internship position with an anticipated time requirement of a minimum of 10 hours per week to a maximum of 20 hours per week. The programme will involve using time-lapse movie analysis to better understand the infection of immune cells during tuberculosis.
The Africa Health Research Institute is a groundbreaking collaboration between the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Our mission is to conduct outstanding basic science research on tuberculosis (TB) and HIV, translate the scientific findings into new tools to control TB and HIV, and expand the educational opportunities in the region. AHRI is an independent research institute that will work in collaboration with UKZN and other academic and clinical institutions in South Africa and around the world.
Currently an undergraduate in BSc in Biology/Microbiology or BSc in Computer
- Basic computer literacy , Tissue Culture/Bacterial Culture Experience (optional) MATLAB experience advantage (Biology/Microbiology background), or
